|Presentation Title||Why haven’t alternative models of retirement living and residential care evolved in the Australian Context?|
Options for retirement living and residential aged care have been largely static for many years. Recent media attention on village operators has driven self-reflection in the sector and funding models are changing to provide more choice. But why haven’t cooperative housing models developed in Australia in the same way as Europe?
Self-build groups are developing in England and small groups are gathering together to provide accommodation and care.
This session discusses some of these new models for senior accommodation.
