Focus Dinner 1: The Heart and Head of Scarcity – How Not Having Enough Impacts Organisations, Services, and You
Speaker: Merlin Kong, Principal Advisor Innovation, LASA

What does an aged care organisation getting by with limited resources, a single mother trying to become an executive in that organisation, and an older person trying to maintain the same level of services have in common? From bouts of feeling stressed and not having enough, the answer is scarcity. Whilst we commonly understand scarcity in physical and economic terms — not having enough money or time (or even calories) — the feeling of scarcity taxes the mind, often leading to a vicious cycle of poor personal and commercial decisions… further perpetuating scarcity. This Focus Dinner will explore new fascinating findings on scarcity, and practical ways to identify and address traps that could keep you and your organisation from having to play catch-up in the industry.

Focus Dinner 2: Not-for-Profits and Industry Working Together for a better resident experience

This dinner will focus on the importance of the industry working together to use good protocols, develop evidence and how evidence based practices can be implemented to provide a better resident experience. The presentation will explain how this initiative, driven by a supplier and a provider, was more than a product evaluation, it was the result of continuous improvements holistically. The panel will deliberate on the importance of resident and staff evaluations and how resident evaluation data should form part of the organisational processes for product selection.

Focus Dinner 3: Next Level Client Experience
Speaker: Dr Robert Dew, Author, Customer Experience Innovation

Client Experience (CX) is a hot topic in the aged services sector right now because the new national care standards are heavily focused on the concept. As a result, many aged care providers have little choice but to comply. Successful providers are turning the tables on the required changes by leveraging the new standards to drive CX based innovation for advocacy and referral.
