Dr Nicky Howe

A community aged care expert, Nicky is the CEO of Southcare with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Over her career, Nicky has been a part of a number of aged care groups sitting on various boards and being a member of several committees in the industry. She has sat on the Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) community aged care committee and is currently a part of the Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) WA Member Advisory Committee.
Nicky is the co-founder of Engaging Young Leaders on Aged Care and Community Boards, an award winning collaborative governance and leadership project which develops young professionals to secure Board Director Positions on aged care and community boards.
Nicky was a finalist in the Business Innovation category of the 2014 Telstra Women’s Business Awards, and one of three national finalists in the Westpac Community Leaders Awards in 2013.
Currently, Nicky has a monthly segment with Jenny Seaton on Curtin radio titled “Ask Nicky”, whereby she addresses all things aged care.
She has presented at international and national conferences in the areas of governance, leadership, management, coaching, cultural change, diversity and innovation.
Her university qualifications include a Doctorate of Business Administration, Post Graduate degree in Public Sector Management, BA in Public Administration and a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Ontological Coaching. Nicky has a Diploma of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of Leadership Western Australia and an Associate Fellow Australasian College of Health Service Management.
