Peter currently manages the Royal Commission response program for First State Super, one of Australia’s largest super funds. The Financial Services Royal Commission has imposed significant demands on financial services organisations. Peter’s role is to coordinate the activities and resources necessary to both deal with requests from the Commission, and provide the relevant engagement with diverse stakeholders such as the Board, management, staff, fund members, media, and regulators. Whilst working on the Royal Commission program, Peter has been on secondment from his usual Investments role with First State Super. He has nearly thirty years’ experience in the superannuation and funds management industries. His previous employment includes time at National Mutual, AMP, Australian Unity Investments, and Colonial First State Global Asset Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science (USyd), Executive MBA (AGSM/UNSW), Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment (FINSIA) and Diploma of Financial Planning (Deakin). He is a Fellow of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (FASFA), Fellow of FINSIA (FFin), and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
