Helen Polley is a Labor Senator for Tasmania and has been a strong Labor supporter her entire life. Helen was the first female president of Tasmanian Labor and has proudly represented the people of Tasmania in the Australian Senate since 2005. Helen is thrilled to be continuing her important work in this area as Shadow Assistant Minister for Ageing – to address the key issues facing the aged care sector and older Australians including the alarming growth in dementia and the critical workforce shortage. In her current role as Shadow Assistant Minister for Ageing, she works closely with the Shadow Minister for Ageing, Julie Collins to ensure older Australians have access to the care and support they deserve, now and into the future. Helen is very passionate about the work she does, her community, women’s issues, worker’s rights and is a big believer in equality.
