Dr Nick Hartland

Dr Nick Hartland currently works in the Department of Health and is responsible for managing the Aged Care Policy and Regulation Division. His division is responsible for strategic policy development in aged care, funding for residential care, and compliance programs.

Prior to working in the Department of Health, Nick played a key role in the development of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the Department of Social Services.  In DSS he has also had responsibility for administering and advising on Commonwealth income support payments (Age Pension, Disability Support Pension, Carer Payment and Carer Allowance).

Prior to these roles Dr Hartland worked as a Senior Executive in Prime Minister and Cabinet and as a Ministerial Adviser.

Nick has a PhD in Criminology from Melbourne University and a Bachelor Degree in Political Science.

Dr Nick will participate in the Aged Care Sector Roadmap / LLLB Review Panel session facilitated by Sean Rooney.
