Jane Flemming’s media and commercial career began in 1997 following her retirement from athletics. With her bright personality and in-depth knowledge of athletics, she has commentated Olympic, Commonwealth and World Championship events including the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka for Channels 7, 9, 10 and SBS as well as radio. Jane has appeared on numerous television programs as a host and special guest. She has regularly reported for 2GB and been a regular contributor to magazines and newspapers. One of the highest profile stars in Australia, Jane has consistently appeared in the top 10 of most recognised and popular personalities surveys for both the public and advertising agencies. Toyota, Qantas, Rexona and SPC have all used Jane’s image to enhance their advertising campaigns. Jane has also been a guest speaker at numerous functions surrounding international sporting events. Jane Fleming has carved out a successful role in business as the managing partner of a sponsorship and marketing company, Flemming Promotions, which deals with several large corporations both in Australia and the UK. Flemming Promotions has successfully evaluated, negotiated and developed corporate sponsorship strategies and then implemented these major multi – million dollar sponsorships on behalf of their clients. Many of these programs are now held up as best practice examples. Flemming Promotions also specialises in developing and implementing unique high end marketing strategies which influence key decision makers on behalf of its clients. Amongst all these activities Jane also operated a successful “Australian Flag” based merchandising business, “Run Jane Run” for five years from 1996 through to 2001 and published a book, “Fast Track to Success” and the widely acclaimed ground breaking “Golden Girls of Sport” calendars. Jane devotes a significant amount of time to charities and has walked the Kokoda Track raising funds for charity. “The most important lessons I’ve learned from my experiences have been about personal qualities like dedication and determination, perseverance and persistence and goal-setting and, most importantly, an unshakable sense of optimism and self-belief. These qualities go far beyond sport.”
