Biography:
Troy started his career as a clinical psychologist in the mental health sector over 20 years ago. More recently he has worked in operational management with home care providers, gaining a comprehensive understanding of all home care service management and operations, including staffing, funding, quality reporting and stakeholder engagement. His experience includes policy development and analysis, program development, implementation and evaluation, operational management, strategic planning, clinical redesign, workforce planning/management, clinical intervention and care planning, consultancy advice, data management and research. More recently he has been actively engaged in the home care reform process representing LASA Members in discussion with government and other stakeholders groups.

Abstract:
Progressing future home care reforms: A continuing conversation
At the 2018 National Congress, LASA convened a breakfast session for delegates attending to the future home care reforms. Twelve months on and home care providers have seen:
the outplaying of a Royal Commission into Aged Care,

  • the allocation of 20,000 additional packages in response to an increasing home care package queue,
  • the extension of the Commonwealth Home Support Program until 2022,
  • home care price publishing on My Aged Care, and
  • the announcement of forthcoming changes to home care package payment administration.
